about the class

Our practice can feel stronger and easier when done in community. Pranayama + meditation especially! Each session we’ll check in and go over what we’re doing (philosophy, techniques, intentions of the practice etc) before moving into a 20-30 minute guided pranayama and meditation practice. Practicing pranayama before meditating can boost our meditative experience. So if you find that meditating is a challenge, this class can to support you with guidance and practical tools to elevate your potential. I’ll always leave space for Q+A if anyone is ever wanting that kind of support.

The class zoom link is sent out through the Virtual Kula newsletter and via email. Recorded zoom sessions will be available for those interested.

gentle reminder

Every body is different. The impact of the practice can vary from person to person regardless of the technique’s intended purpose and benefit. These classes are designed as much for everyone as possible. Please keep that in mind alongside the fact that yoga and the techniques within the practice were not intended to be generalized. As we learn techniques and explore through our practice, we can build an awareness to ourselves, our body, and our mind to learn what does and doesn’t work for us over time. We also acknowledge that, while some techniques can and often do change how we feel after just one practice, it can take time and repetition for the benefits of our practice to truly land, be noticeable or influence us on a deeper, longer-lasting level. Our practice is a journey and a process. Our practice is not meant to fix, solve, or cure anything.

health disclaimer

While research studies show significant data that backs yoga- namely pranayama and meditation- for therapeutic impact on mind, body, and overall health, even as far as clinical level support for certain health issues and conditions, it is never intended to be a replacement for medical support.

If you are coming to class with any pre-conditions to your health, are interested in working with these tools for therapeutic purposes, or have any other questions please email Sam directly.
